How the calculation works
Total seconds = hours×3600 + minutes×60 + seconds
Seconds per unit = total seconds ÷ distance
Speed = distance ÷ (total seconds ÷ 3600)
Example: 10 km in 0 hours, 55 minutes, 0 seconds. Total seconds = 3300. Pace = 330 seconds per km = 5:30 /km. Speed = 10 ÷ (3300/3600) ≈ 10.91 km/h.

Training uses
Set easy run pace slower than race pace. Use interval targets as faster segments with recovery. Course hills and weather change real world pace even when the calculator math is exact for a given time and distance.

Limitations
The calculator assumes even pacing over the distance entered. It does not model elevation or wind. Listen to your body and follow coaching advice when relevant.
